The Bakery Band performs this Saturday from 9-12 at the Tamworth Farmers Market!

The Bakery Band comes by its name honestly representing a quartet of musicians tied to a wood-fired bakery and the farmers market in Tamworth. Peg Loughran owns and works in the “bread mines” and Brad McKenzie drives the Sunnyfield bread van around New Hampshire delivering the loaves. Bill May supports his partner, Val of Black Snout Dog Biscuits while Lisa Ferguson has sung at the market for years in various musical combinations and purchased who knows how many loaves… Thanks Lisa!   😊

The band came together in 2017 excited to focus on original material from the funny and ridiculous to the heartfelt, introspective, and historically themed. No topic was out of bounds: vegetables, lost love, found love, trains, and existential musings… and they have supported each other, laughed and practically cried, in their quest to play new-to-them, instruments and grow musically.

On guitar, mandolin, stand up bass and banjo the group has a distinctly string band/bluegrassy-folk feel with songs and instrumental tunes.
