The arrival of spring heralds a period of renewal and vibrant activity within the natural world. Among the earliest bloomers is the humble dandelion, a plant overlooked yet vital to local ecosystems. The second annual Dandelion Festival offers an exceptional opportunity for community members to engage with this resilient plant and appreciate its ecological significance.

This event is organized by the Carroll County Beekeepers Association and emphasizes the importance of pollinators and their relationship with flowering plants such the dandelion. Expect a variety of educational opportunities including guided walks and talks on native plants and sustainable practices. These initiatives aim to foster a deeper understanding of how dandelions support bees and contribute to biodiversity.

In addition to the educational components, the festival features family-friendly entertainment. There will be food, fun games for kids, the amazing dancing dandelion demo, a listen to the hidden music of plants with our PlantWave machine, poem & prose by local talent and amazing insights into this under-appreciated amazing flowering plant with Again & Again Farmstead.

The 2026 Dandelion Festival promises an afternoon filled with learning, community, and appreciation for one nature’s most enduring flowers!
