Singer/songwriter Mitch Alden started singing in the New England area in 2001. Since then, he maintains an ambitious schedule of over 180 dates annually and delivers a steady repertoire of covers from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s (all songs you know the words to), and originals. His steady circuit includes clubs in New Hampshire and Maine, patio gigs wherever there’s a stage next to water, apres gigs in all the great ski towns, and a few New York City rock clubs.

Mitch has released three full-length CD’s fronting and writing for the band, “NOW is NOW”: Transitions, 2002, Days of Summer, 2004, Never Go Back, 2007, “Take Me There,” a summertime anthem, 2018, and “Keep Us Around,” a creative venture during The Anxiety Times, 2021. Mitch has also released a full-length solo CD, Old Habits, 2011

All this in itself seems impressive, but there are many more dimensions to Mitch. These are affectionately referred to as “Mitchy World,” by his friend and fellow musician Dave Hochheiser. This refers to Mitch’s seemingly boundless outlook on the world at large and his ability to exponentially exert energy toward various feats of kindness, strength and endurance.
Mitch is an accomplished scuba diver spending time between gigs diving throughout New England’s coastal waters, lakes and rivers. He’s also an absolute beast on the trails, running up and down mountains with little care for rest.
Perhaps most impressively, Mitch is an accomplished long distance runner. In 2014 he wrote a book called Musical Miles, which chronicles his journey recording a full length album in a Chicago studio and then running the 26.2 mile Chicago marathon immediately after. He tested his metal with this self-imposed endurance challenge and documented it in an inspiring read for anyone looking to get into distance running.
Indeed, “Mitchy World” is a great name to describe the raw energy and positivity Mitch puts into everything he does and everywhere he goes. Come on down to the Tamworth Farmers Market on Saturday, July 26th and soak up some of this energy for yourself.
