Rams Farm was founded by Helen & Charlie Ramsdell and family in 1976. They started their Purebred Nubian Dairy Herd with a doe from the Murhill show line. They showed all over the state of Maine at American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) Sanctioned Dairy Goat Shows.

In the early 80’s, they started making Goat Cheeses to sell at Farmers’ Markets and joined ADGA’s DHI Milk Testing, Dairy Goat Linear Appraisal Program. Next, they began their journey into learning about artificial insemination.

In 1987, a successful insemination resulted in the creation of GCH Rams Crown Black Beauty. Black Beauty was the start of a very successful show season which resulted in finishing her championship at the age of two. Their show line was unbeatable in the State of Maine for 10 years.

In 2021, Rams Farm was honored to be awarded the National recognition of AGDA’s Association Herd of Distinction. The herd continues with the second generation show line, Victoria Drew, in Conway, New Hampshire. She has worked with her Purebred Nubian Dairy Goat Show line since she was 9 years old.

Vicky tests her herd annually for CAE and was base tested for CL & Johne’s Disease in 2022. Any new animals entering her herd are quarantined and biosecurity tested for all three of these diseases. Present year disease testing records can be given upon request.

As a Lifetime Member of the American Dairy Goat Association and an ADGA Plus Herd Improvement member she is active in DHI milk testing and Linear Appraisal Improvement programs.

Vicky shows her Nubians at ADGA Sanctioned Dairy Goat Shows all over the states of Maine and New Hampshire. She is also a proud member of the Southern Maine Dairy Goat Association, the Heart of Maine Dairy Goat Club, and the Leader of The Oxford Caprine 4H Milkers Club.
