Doug Hazard, known as The Dangerous Folksinger, began writing songs in high school, and sold a few of them to publishers in New York and filmmakers.
In the years since (quite a few of them!) he’s spent his musical time developing a repertoire of classic songs in every genre– from classic folk to classic Celtic to classic country to classic blues, from Leonard Cohen to Eric Clapton, from Christy Moore to Merle Haggard, Doc Watson to John Prine.
In addition to his own wide repertoire, Doug is sought after as an accompanist on guitar and mandolin, and plays currently in two groups: The Sandwich Rangers and The Starlight Honeys. He has produced 4 solo CD’s of original songs, and three other albums involving various groups.
Whether he’s still dangerous is debatable, but he’s definitely a Hazard!
Coming up in July are a number of Starlight Honeys gigs, including downtown Tamworth on July 4th and downtown Sandwich on July 5. A solo performance at The Corner House on July 18, and again with the Honeys at the Ossipee Valley Music Festival on July 26… August is also busy, with Sandwich Rangers, Starlight Honeys and solo shows, culminating in the Sandwich Rangers at this very Tamworth Farmers Market on August 30!
